Back in the mo-effin’ saddle
The Hard Drive is fixed. The computer works. I am back. Webcomics can now safely resume activity.
You might’ve been curious to know which comics I made it a point to keep up with away from the computer and bookmarks and whatnot. When you’re blanking out and staring at a computer screen, the comics you recall without assistance make an interesting assortment. They may not neccessarily be your favorites, but maybe they say something about you. Here were the comics I kept up with whilst my life was in disarray:
Achewood
Dominic Deegan
The Last Days of FOXHOUND
Narbonic
The Order of the Stick
Penny and Aggie
Penny Arcade
Perry Bible Fellowship
PVP
Questionable Content
Shortpacked
Something Positive
So yeah, those were the ones I checked up on nearly without fail. Narbonic was tougher, since I didn’t have a Modern Tales account.
That’s right. I said “didn’t.”
Because now, I do. Narbonic is a good enough comic that I will pay to read that one and that one alone. I don’t read any other Modern Tales comics (yet, I suppose), but goddamn that Narbonic is good stuff. And picking up on the few strips I missed while I was gone made the $3 worth it already.
But I digress. I’m back. So celebrate good times. C’mon.

Yeah, Narbonic was also what singlehandedly won my Modern Tales subscription (and remains as such given their current dearth of strips). But Eric’s given word that changes are raring to go, so I’ve got hope the place will liven up a bit!

Shaenon has begun to accept her role as the queen of the internet. Soon wangings shall be imparted upon us all.

About Modern Tales. The following have been highly reccommended to me:
Pewfell
John Law
Hotel Fred
Picture Story Theater
Though I guess all of them have some sort of quality to them given that I generally think Manley has good tastes in his comics. Note I said “quality”… “Geek appeal” is an entirely different thing, so people’s mileage may vary.

OK I’m late, but … I’d suggest looking into one of those webcomic-update-tracker thingies. I prefer The Webcomics List, but there are others, too (at least webcomics.com and Belfry)
