Shrek can be read on more levels than just a silly children's story, and in a way, it did a lot of what Narnia is doing (mixing together different mythologies for the purpose of storytelling). I do wish Disney would just take the risk. I wasn't aware that Caspian hadn't been greenlighted. I first read that 5 films were being made.
